But in wholesale catalogues built for the trade, written in SKU codes, sold to people who already know what they want. Not for the everyday people who just genuinely desire a great, long lasting shirt.

Where it started

One day, my go-to shirts for custom prints ran out and I had to switch to Urban Collab to finish the order (I am an apparel decorator) . It's a brand I'd seen in the catalogue plenty of times but never really paid attention to. When the box arrived, I picked up one of their heavyweight tees, then a hoodie, and just stood there asking..

Why is this hiding??

The fabric, the weight, the way it sat — this wasn't a workhorse blank. This was a tee you'd actually want to wear. And it was buried in a wholesale portal that asks for a customer code at the front door. That's when Basically started.

What we do
We sort through the blanks from across the New Zealand and curate the ones that work for end consumers — pieces that look, feel, and wear like something you'd genuinely choose, not just settle for. We've worn them, washed them, and written honestly about how they fit, when we can.

What we don't do
We don't pretend our shipping is faster than it is. Most of our stock sits in NZ and ships in days. Some comes from Australia and takes a week.

We don't run fake sales. When we discount, it's a real discount — not a marked-up price with a strikethrough.

We don't push you toward whatever has the highest margin. If we don't think a product is right for what you're trying to do, we'll say so.

We started this because we'd seen what was sitting in those wholesale warehouses — and we got tired of watching customers pay double for tees that were better, NZ-stocked, and quietly available the whole time.
